Printed Pants

printed pants, pants, cotton

Sweater: Thrifted
Pants: Selfmade
Flats: Aldo

These pants are from a pants pattern I drafted in my quest for the perfect pants pattern. The fabric is from Fabricland, I had to get it the print is amazing. That's what I told myself when I bought it and I was thinking about the other fabric I had sitting at home. Although I really didn't have anything in a weight I wanted to use for pants so there.

P.S.

The white spots on my sweater are snow flakes.

Leather at Last

leather, leggings,

green, leather, pants

zippers, zipper pants

Jacket: Suzy Shier
Earrings: F21
Leather leggings: Selfmade
Shoes: Aldo

I finished these pants a while back and have finally taken photos! I made another pair of these for Natasha a while back and my pair cut out and ready to go and then got side tracked but something else that had to be priority. Darn those priorities!

I made the pattern by knocking off some pleather pants Natasha had made me a while ago because I was planning on making us both a pair and I remembered her saying she had basically just made mine slightly bigger and a couple inches longer so I knew I could do the same for her in reverse!

I thought the zippers would be a fun detail but didn't want them being even so I ended up with the asymmetrical style as well as zippers up the back to mid calf, sorry no photo of that it didn't turn out. Really it's just an excuse for me to wear the again in the near future, plus the temperature has dropped here again to burrrrr status.

I'm glad I added the knit panels here, it makes these pants a little more interesting than just a typical leather pant, plus a little more forgiving fit wise when I was making them for someone else very far away!

Paris

Eiffel tower, paris,
Our first day in Paris
View from the Eiffel Tower
louvre, paris, museum
The Louvre (Apparently it's closed on Tuesday's so we had to go back the next day)
So I'm hoping to go get a tripod today and end all this photo's on the dress form because it's too dark when I get home from work to get someone else to take photo's for me business. For now however I will dream about Europe and the recent trip the beau and I took there. Our first stop obviously was Paris.

This was the second time I've been to Paris and I loved it just as much this time as I did the first, perhaps even more as I'm not a teenager this time around. I ate as many pastries as my stomach could fit and enjoy the red wine very much. I actually went up the Eiffel tower this time and I will just point out that I like the view from the Arc De Triumphe much better because the tower is in the view! Plus a storm came in when the beau and I went up and the wind was so cold I was a meat popsicle by the end of it!

Sadly I did not see any fabric stores.

Have you ever been to Paris?

Merry Christmas!

xmas sweater, snowflakes, reindeer,

christmas sweater, reindeer, bells

christmas bow, glitter

The beau had a Christmas sweater competition at work so upon him finding this red sweater I suggested we go to the dollar store and embellish it! So I used crafting felt and cut out silhouettes of Santa and his reindeer with reins that are a string of Christmas lights, and bells sewn onto them along with some foam stars stitched onto the other sleeve. Of course I can't forget the bow on the back that has left glitter everywhere.

Thrifted

thrifted, vintage, blue

Here are a couple dresses I've thrifted recently. The top two resulted in me going on a trek to find a slip and honestly with all the fuss it took I don't know why I didn't just make one! Lesson learned.

Sweater Mittens

mittens, sweater mittens

Mittens: Self made

I've made a pair of mittens! These were made from a men's old wool sweater which was then washed on hot to make it felt (it actually took three washes) and then I used a pair of mittens I had for the pattern and lined them with fleece. I'm not going to show any steps as theres a ton of DIY's on how to do them, simply google "sweater mittens" thats what I did.

This is my first time embroidering so it's a work in progress!

Catching Up

knitting, scarf, scarves, fringe

Scarf: Self made

My mum tried to teach me to knit about 5-7 years ago but of course when you learn something new and don't keep practicing you forget and such is the story with this scarf. This is the scarf she taught me on. I think it got packed into a box when I went off to school back in 2009 and then I found it last winter and decided it was going onto my year of finishing projects.

I may not of been blogging in the last while but I have been sewing and I can't wait to show off what I've been up to and what I have coming up!

Missed you all!
