Happy Holidays Bloggers!

Ralph Lauren Blazer: Thrifted
Pink skirt worn as dress: Thrifted
Belt: Refind
Nine West Over The Knee Socks: Winners
Oxfords: Spring
Necklace: Sears
Headband: Ardene

I found this fabulous blazer and skirt on Monday at the half off sale at Value Village, so no this is not the same blazer as the one I wore earlier this week. I thoroughly enjoyed rocking this skirt as a dress too!

Since I don't plan to post again until New Years, I will take this opportunity to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all of you! This past year has been an adventure and blogging is a big part of that, so thank you for your lovely comments, they continue to inspire me!!!

I'll be snowboarding, eating lots of food, and hanging out with family and whatever you plan on doing I hope you have a fabulous time too!!!

Also, a big thank you to Papyrus and Marie A La Mode for the fabulous Christmas give away I won and received in the mail this week! I love paper products (sorry trees, but I do recycle adamantly) and I'm very excited for the pretty cards, present toppers and the fabulous day planner that even has pages with different conversions for just about everything!

Monochromatic Print Mixer

Coat: Self made
Blazer: Suzy Shier
Polka Dot Blouse: Self made
Jeans: Knock offs self made from my favorite pair of Buffalo's
Wedge Heels: Winners
Earrings: Anika Burke

This was a fun outfit and awesome even though I didn't think about this at the time since I was wearing so many things together that I had made! I haven't worn these jeans in forever and since they are so comfortable and turned out so fabulous I don't know why I haven't worn them more! Well I certainly will in the future!

I'm trying to finish last minute xmas presents so I had better get back to it....

Brighten Up

Blazer: Thrifted
Knit Top: Random store in Florence
Pants: Suzy Shier
Red Loafer Heels: Nine West

We keep getting lovely fluffy snow, but then it warms up, the snow melts and now its ridiculously icey. Grrhhhh!!!!! Not conducive to heel wearing..... And with all this snow, you'd think these photos would be brighter but my top is blending with my blazer....

I am getting some work done on Christmas presents at least, but I'm going to have to post after Christmas just in case....

It's A Love Hate Thing

Military Jacket: Smart Set
Zara Silk Blouse: Gift from Natasha
Pants: Self made
Oxfords: Spring
Necklace: Gift

It was sooooo bright out with all the snow, squinty face was a big problem.... My sister says she hates these pants, but I love them. I think thats pretty much the way it is with pants that are such a different shape and print...... I will say she's boring and I'm brave, take that little sister! Ha ha ha!

Chimney Sweep...

I feel like I should of maybe been doing the dance to "Step in time" from Mary Poppins

What with the boots, hat, and rolled up jeans, you know what I mean?

I seriously love this crackle nail polish!

Leather Jacket: Florence Leather Market
Cardigan: Thrifted
Top: Joe Fresh
Micheal Kors Belt: Winners
Gap Jeans: Thrifted
Boots: Aldo
Hat: Stampede
Necklace: Gift
Rings: Gift from Natasha & Street Market

If I had actually dressed for my mood on this particular morning it would of been all black. The good old, no sleep because fur balls are restless and so on. Thankfully I have so much color in my wardrobe it would be hard to even try dressing in all black even if I wanted to!

I'm going to do red nail polish and layer the gold sparkly crackle polish over top this weekend as a festive look. Stay tuned...

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!

It Was Warmer Than It Looked...

Denim Jacket: Zara
Knit Top: Self made
Pants: BCBG
Booties: Aldo
Bracelets: Suzy Shier & Thrifted
Scarf: Refind

It was about zero when I took these photos, it actually felt quite warm so here I am without a winter coat on with snow on the ground....

I got my Anika Burke jewelry in the mail last night after winning a draw from the Old To New October event that Natasha hosted.  Stupid Christmas mail holding up my prize! Not only did this event get my butt in gear for remaking things I had been meaning to do forever, I won a prize from a random draw for participating!

Then I found out last night I had won the Papyrus prize pack that Marie from Marie A La Mode did! Wednesday was clearly a lucky day for this Gemini! Oh, and I got some great news at work!

This gal has been feeling a tad stressed with the holiday season, so a big thank you to the blogosphere for bringing me back to a Christmas cheer kind of mood!

Mini Mini

Leather Jacket: Florence Leather Market
Sequin Beaded Jacket: F21
Top: Winners
Suede Skirt: Gift
Tights: Gift from Natasha
Booties: Aldo
Necklace: Winners

This was actually an outfit I wore on the weekend. Yes there is snow on the ground, however it was a lovely day and I was making the most of it by wearing this mini skirt. Now on most people this skirt probably wouldn't be so mini, but on me it's definitely not work appropriate so I have to make room for it on other occasions!

Meanwhile we have a potluck at work today, and I'm super excited because our volunteers sound like amazing cooks!

This was a great project, although the initial cutting up of the wedding dress was rather daunting!

Have a great weekend.

The Learning Coat

Makeup was optional this particular day....

I made this coat quite a few years ago, I learned many things along the way...

These over the knee socks are so fun!

Hat: Stampede vendor
Coat: Selfmade
Over The Knee Socks: Winners
Boots: ?
Belt: Zara

Things I learnt back when I made this coat:

1) Bound buttonholes - Poor Natasha tried to explain this to me multiple times....

2) Glue - A bad idea with fabric..... Yes, yes I know many people never have any trouble, but I in a state of madness over did it and then ended up with one particular buttonhole looking much grayer than the others.

3) Interlining for warmth - A good idea, however less is more and two layers of warm and natural throughout an entire coat is crazy. Not to mention very difficult to move in. Just to make is clear this coat has four layers; 1 layer of mixed fiber boucle type fabric, 2 layers of warm and natural, and 1 layer of satin as the lining. I will say that this is a very warm coat

Every project teaches me something, but looking back at this project always cracks me up!

A big dump of snow left my surroundings so pretty and white this weekend and so enjoyable for photos!  Sunglasses were a must though!

Layered Not A Little

Trench: Bebe
Blazer: Suzy Shier
Knit Top: Banana Republic
Lace Skirt: Self made
Tights: Winners
Shoes: Spring
Necklace: Suzy Shier
Headband: Ardene

These tights were another of my big score last week, I fear I have not done the shiny delightfulness of these tights justice! Suffice it to say, they are super sparkly and amazing!

I'm also loving this knit top with my skirt, the pretty ruffle details don't hurt either!

I'm also quite excited about a very fun party dress I thought up the other day involving the purple lace with gold sequins I had originally planned for this skirt. Stay tuned for more details, I can't wait to share this project with you!

Weekend Warrior

This was my first day out this season and it was practically perfect! I say practically because a favorite run of mine was closed but oh well.

I justify this as a fashion related post because my goggle frames are covered with silver sparkles, and my face scarf is a great example of the lovely hot pink lip trend!

The Thrifting Continues

This fabulous cardigan I recently thrifted was hand knitted. The pattern is gorgeous and so is the color!

I am happy to report a major score in tights at Winners last night. My tights seem to of been dying lately so I was stoked when I found different colors and prints in my size and on sale!!!! I got tights for $2, $3, and $4!!!!

Cardigan: Thrifted
Polka Dot Top: Reitmans
Pleated Skirt: Thrifted
Tights: Winners
Booties: Nine West

It also occurred to me lately that I've been wearing all my big shoes and no problems. All because I stepped into a hole on a dark street. Lucky right? Well the physio has worked because no problems with all my fabulous shoes, even being on my feet lots. This realization has been like an early Christmas gift for me!

Mean while, its December 1st and I can finally bust out all the Christmas decorations!
