Sequins are just great

Jacket: F21
Brown knit dress used as top: ?
Skirt: Joe Fresh
Tights: Winners
Oxfords: Spring
Necklace: Refind
Purse: Gift

Isn't this little jacket fabulous? Its a new favorite I found when Natasha and I went out shopping. Its got a great print and sequins, what more could a girl ask for? And the tights! Aren't they great?! Yay for fall and wearing tights! I just feel like they really take my outfits up a notch, you know? Some more visual interest....

Sadly I did not get time to dye my hair over the weekend. I'm going intense auburn red one of these days, go my sister Kayleigh for picking some out for me when she went to her beauty supply place. I just have to make time to get it done....

Sadly I have not much to chat about as I am completely sidetracked By the thought of my emergency dentist appointment tonight. I had a filling come out on the weekend and its not pretty (I'm sure you don't want to know the scary details)..... So if you don't hear from me for couple days after this you know whats happened. Pain.... All I can say is I have an exceptional tolerance for those numbing/sleeping drugs, I never fail to amaze my dentist or doctor, which results in a lot of pain on my end!

What a pretty thought to leave you with yes?

How about this for a new thought.... Shoes...... All kinds... Wedges, stilettos, chunky heels.....

Fashion is my comfort

Cardigan:  Joe Fresh
Tunic: Winners
Jeans: Parasuco for Smart Set
Scarf: Suzy Shier
Belt: Winners
Steve Madden Booties: DSW

Its been a while... I'm still trying to find that rhythm in the madness that is my schedule. I'm not complaining, I've signed up for all of it willingly, even though I was quite naive about what I was in for..... All the experiences are worth it and I'm sure all my hard work will pay off though!

I love taking my photos on campus, but this spot in particular is a favorite as I'm hidden quite well from passers by!  As evident by the layers and leaves on the ground, fall has arrived and it has been quite beautiful.

This past weekend the beau and I went out through Kanakis and did some hiking and enjoyed some of the fall colors highlighted by the sunshine! I so very rarely see sunshine these days its exhilerating when I do. Maybe this makes me appreciate it that much more???

I'll be taking pictures in the next couple of days to show off the amazing fabric I bought last week on my field trip. I'm very excited about my upcoming projects and all the hardwork it'll take to get there because they are goiog be fabulous!!!

A great time...

Vyla trying to steal the spotlight like usual....

Vyla wanting to get in  the action....

Natasha feeding me her necklace.... We get a little silly together...

Jacket: Suzy Shier
Knit Top: Random store in Florence
Jeans: Costa Blanca
Suede over the knee boots: Bakers

Natasha came to visit me (the malls) for the weekend! We had a lot of fun (not much sleep). I always hear about what a good girl Vyla is sleeping all night always being such an angel.......
Just kidding Tash! Vyla was very good all weekend, unfortunately the grown ups in the house who are not used to babies, didn't provide the best environment (paper thin walls, doors slamming and too much giggling) for a certain Vyla the Destroyer. I wouldn't change it though as I am lucky to of gotten to see my favorite fashionista before she moves to the absolute middle of nowhere. Thank goodness for internet!
I also got to see plenty of the troll face from Vyla the Destroyer which never fails to entertain me. Or her crawling all over the beau.... he deals as best he can.

I would also like to say a big thank you to my fabulous friend Natasha for the blog award she gave me!

Here are 7 random things about me:

1. I have ridden on those carousel rides in 5 different countries. They just always have those cool horses on them...

2. I used to train and breed quarter horses. This is actually what I originally went to college for way back when.

3. My friend Katrina is generally mistaken for my twin.

4. My biggest mission in life is to travel to as many places in the world as possible.

5. I can pick things up with my toes. Splay them, move them in a wave like order, you name it, my mom thinks it is hilarious....

6. I absolute love Harry Potter (HP7 Part 1 comes out in November!) and Twilight (I have been accused of being a Twihard, although I did propose going on a roadtrip during spring break to Forks to my sister who agreed (Right Kayleigh?)! In my defense they have some gorgeous hiking, hotsprings, whale watching and so many other things that I would love to do.)

7. I am President of the students association at the college I attend, yet I am terrified of public speaking. I am sure making some drastic improvements in this department....

One thing thats no so random about me is that I think fellow bloggers are some of the most awesome people. That means you too!

I would like to forward this award onto Laurwyn of Quirky Pretty Cute. This lovely lady always has the most interesting blogs about sewing projects, tv shows, and anything else she deems fabulous! She once did a blog about Garcia from Criminal Minds and outfit ideas and etc that were just fabulous!

I really am wearing tights!

So I got playing around with this photo....

Dress: Zara
Knit Wrap Top: Suzy Shier
Belt: Refind
Tights: Shop in Milan
Shoes: Spring
Earrings: Gift from Natasha

I was bad again and didn't do a close up photo! This belt is a fabulous find from Refind a local consignment store. I love it a lot! Unfortunately  I was at school late yesterday doing homework, and then as a was headed home realized I still hadn't done my blog photos. I'm really hoping things will maybe be calmer next week...

This last photo I was trying to brighten up and then just went a little crazy... The final product makes me kind of look like a ghoul before the rotting flesh part??? I think its pretty funny anyways...

A most exciting part of my day yesterday was when I bought some amazing leopard print silk chiffon for the project I have been talking about... At an amazing $12.00/m I might add! Amazing, yes?

I must rush to class now but I'm waiting for a certain NATASHA to confirm she will be coming for a visit. If she doesn't come here I will go there. And I did tell her that!

So come already!

Have a great weekend.

On The Fringe

Fringe Skirt: F21
Jacket: Suzy Shier
Knit Top: F21
Necklace: Hair Show Booth
Tights: Winners
Two Tone Oxfords: Spring
Ring: Gift from Natasha

Its been a crazy week, as probably evident by the fact that I have not blogged since Monday! What is my life coming to..... I think I just need to get back in the swing of things between managing all my homework and Executive responsibilities.. I'm hoping I get this sorted sooner rather than later of course.

I was trying to do some jumping pictures to show off the fringe a little betterbut as you can see there are no jumping pictures because I just couldn't get any!

Today in class bolts of fabric were brought in and we are given the option of purchasing this fabric for our couture fabric project. I've accepted that with everything already on my plate I do not have time to draft my own gown and having been perusing the vogue website instead. I found a dress pattern that has a boned bodice (which I want to do), and uses chiffon (which I also want to do) with some gorgeous draping on the body. I found leopard print silk chiffon in this collection of fabric brought in and immediately wanted it. Its on hold. I kid you not. They only chage us half of the cost or something so I would get this leopard print silk chiffon for $12.00/meter. How could I not????

This is the pattern.

I would be making it probably knee length to make it a little more wearable. I had also contemplated instead of doing flowers, doing a leaf montage and making it go over the shoulder on one side....
I have so many ideas, luckily we have some time before any final decisions are necessary! I'm also wondering about what I could use underneath to help bring out the warmer colors in the leopard print to make sure its flattering on me...

I would love to hear peoples thoughts on this!

And Then There Were Three....

Jacket: Suzy Shier
Printed Tank: Bedo
Jeans: Le Chateau
Steve Madden Booties: DSW
Necklace: Refind

I found this necklace at a local consignment store the other day. I absolutely love it! A lot. Its my latest treasure... I feel as if it took my outfit to great instead of just good or okay.... Accesories are great like that though aren't they?
A bleak note on my week last week was some new rules in my sewing classes. No heels over 2"!!!! I am still quite distraught over this. Apparently it has something to do with "industry standards" for the costume students so we all have to suffer. I am not a costume major, I am a fashion major so I am not pleased by this news. My poor teachers even noted that they would simply be keeping a pair of flats for these classes as they would still be wearing heels for everything else.
Has anyone had a job in the "industry" where such rules were applied? Granted I was only doing alterations over the summer but I even wore opened toed sandals while sewing on the industrial machines and heels if I chose to!

On to a happier topic.... My new roommates! Jordan (blonde hair) and I were friends last year, but Amy (black hair) I met when she moved in. She had met Jordan on a campus tour last year, and been needing to find some roommates and here we are.... These group shots were super fun. The first one, which makes me look like a giant since I am wearing heels is quite funny and of course we had to do a Charlie's Angel pose.... I love both my roommates individual sense of style, and I'm looking forward to some fun poses together in the coming school year!

Happy Monday!

Cowboy Boots To The Concert

Dress: Suzy Shier
Cardigan: Borrowed from Cajun
Necklace: Made by Natasha
Ring: Made by Natasha
Bangles: Le Chateau
Cowboy Boots: ???

This is what I wore to the Welcome Back Concert for Students the other night. I love these cowboy boots and think they are looking quite fabulous with this dress! These boots are also very comfortable which comes in handy with two stepping and just dancing the night away! My new roommates even came out and did some dancing so that was also a lot of fun!

I also got a lot of complements on my amazing necklace and ring that my wonderful friend Natasha gave to me..... Talented friends are awesome....

I even got to visit with two friends that I went to college with quite a few years ago now this morning and hear about what they've been up to. One is now a wedding photographer so maybe I can get her take my photos.....

Have a great weekend!

Ready, Stripe, Go!

Oh dear, I look tired....

Dress: Zara
Leggings: Suzy Shier
Necklaces: Hair show and ?
Bracelet: Suzy Shier
Shoes: Winners
Earrings: F21

I look as tired as I feel in these photos....  Funny enough, at the time I felt alright b looking at them now I am not looking so great.... To top it off I didn't get close up photos or do many angles... My friend Sheila did photos as I seem to of misplaced my tripod now in all the excitement!

In all fairness the last 10 days have been spent doing student welcoming events and actually helping people move into res over the holiday weekend. I'm tired, did I mention that? Add on top of that the fact that I lost my ID and SIN card and have been searching everywhere. Turns out I left them in a photo copier at my local Shoppers Drug Mart. I really can be so silly some times....

Tonight we are having a student concert featuring Brad Johner with the Honkin' Chadillacs which I am quite excited for! Tomorrow we have Cyclone the mechanical bull at the student lounge which will be quite a show of its own as well...

My job: I am currently the student body president at my college and was show casing my office in some photos I took last week....

The summer that never was made an appearance!

Dress: H & M
Sandals: Nine West
Bangles: Ten Thousand Villages
Earrings: Gift

What a glorious day! I mean it... It was a beautiful day that turned into a beautiful evening, warm, should of been sitting on a patio somewhere...

Unfortunately, when I took this photo it was the middle of the day and the sun was way too bright so I figured I would take some more later on in the evening... However I was heading back into the city and got stuck in serious traffic so of course it was very dark and photos were no longer an option...

I didn't even get a close up of the cool bamboo earrings that the beau's mom gave to me from her trip to Alaska. I'll be wearing them again soon so I'm sure I will get close ups one of these days....

Hope you at least enjoy the flowers... No idea what they are but they're cool!

Its pretty dismal outside so I decided I would take pictures in my president office! Nothing too crazy, its your standard office, I do have a big leather couch against the other wall though... nice and squishy....

This week has been flying by with different meetings, executive training and planning and etc and I've enjoyed all of it. I'm so excited for the upcoming year!

Happy first day of September everybody!

Military Start

Military Jacket: Smart Set
Ruffled Chiffon - Tank Winners
Parasuco Jeans - Smart Set
Antique Bead Necklace - Made by my sister Kayleigh
Steve Madden - Flats DSW

My first day back I knew there was some kind of presentation welcoming all the new students at study skills so I wanted to be comfortable, however I was the one that had to speak. Yeah, yeah I know, Im president but I just ended up winging it. It was fine, nothing major, me saying this in regards to public speaking is a serious big deal though! I wasn't sure what else we were going to be doing but figured just in case we ended up doing some completely random team building exercises that I would stick with flats!

This morning when I woke up it said 2 degrees celcius but feels like -2! Couldn't believe it. How sad....

I cant remember what else I was going to write about as this keyboard is being rather petulant and selectively not letting some buttons work! Which is why youre probably noticing a lack of commas and etc. Its not me, its the tempermental keyboard. Note to self, I wont use this one tomorrow!!!!

Okay, I even went back into my list of posts ths time and confirmed this one was scheduled and I just saw that it never did!!!! What in the world is going on?!
