So my mom gave me this lip balm and its really quite good. She found it at the Minniapolis Airport, apparently its all about the moose there???

Bow Blouse: ?
Jeans: Smart Set
Sandals: Store in Rome
Purse: Vendor in Italy
I'm leaving for Manitoba this evening. I'm at my moms in her flower gardens enjoying the sunshine. We forgot to take a close up photo of these sandals but I'm sure I'll be wearing them again soon with all the upcoming nice weather we have. She tried to take some creative shots.. They didn't work out.... You can see all her amazing flowers in the above photos and they are amazing.... I do love this camera. Thanks to Natasha for telling me about that Macro feature!
I don't really have much to say, I think these photos say plenty for me though....

Admittedly this is not a fashion post, but a lust post. I got my learners for a motorbike last summer and unfortunately it has just expired so now I will have to go renew it. This is the bike that I want though. Nothing fancy, either black or Cheery Red Kawasaki 250cc. A nice little beginner bike!
The beau finally got all his parts for his bike and put the thing back together yesterday so we took it for a spin down to walmart. We went in for just a couple things and ended up leaving with way more. I ended up fitting in my backpack: 2 packs of zangy tangy's, a 6 pack of bottled brisk tea, a 4 pack of red bull, green onions, some mini fruit bites, a pack of nibs, a pack of cheddar fishes and then had to carry the carton of eggs on my lap on the way back! So it really is tricky to go to Walmart while on a motorbike!
Also, I am going to Manitoba this week so posting will be sketchy at best. I hope everyone has a fantastic Canada Day!

Jacket: Self Made
Tank: Costa Blanca
Jeans: Costa Blanca
Ring: Suzy Shier
Purse: Vendor in Florence
Necklace: The Bay
This jacket was a challenge to finish, I made it in one of my construction classes at school but had to add the cuffs and third button hole to meet the "requirements". Unfortunately gathering the sleeves into the cuff instead of the elastic that it was meant to have was not fun and I had to hand sew everything. Don't get me wrong, I quite enjoy hand sewing, but not under the time constraints of a school project! I had to leave the lining open for the grading but just sewed it up the other night so I am finally wearing it!
I went for a facial today with my sister, so I am not wearing any make up, nor could I be bothered to put any on just for a few errands and pictures afterwards....
I have another jacket from school that I need to finish up, but it needs the lining sewn up as well as 29 buttons and button holes so that one will be a bit longer. Especially since I have yet to find the perfect buttons!!!

The girls and I outside the derby match arena. (From left: Amy, Katrina, Moi, Mandy, Kayleigh)
Mandy announced that she wanted to do a "high school" picture which involved the said wall seen as the back ground. So here is our "High school" picture. Her husband Paul in the background makes it kind of perfect and also reminds me of The Fast Times at Ridgemount High!
My sisters and I. The roller derby theme was Hawaiian hence the outfits....
Rusty embracing the theme....
Wrap skirt used as top: Thrifted
Candy Necklace: Gift
Hawaiian Bracelets: Dollar Store
Sunglasses: Kathy Van Zeeland
So this is what I did for the first part of my birthday. It was so gorgeous out! I'm pining for the sunny weather as its pouring rain and miserable outside again!!!! I'm trying to remain hopeful for the upcoming weekend and the sunshine the weather reports are promising....
The picture of my sisters and I think is pretty funny since I'm practically glowing from the sun shining on my paleness. It is an interesting picture of the three of us... It got a little breezy later on so that is why I ended up in the capris, and rocked out the crazy green sunnies I found.
This post is now taking me forever as I keep getting distracted because a really good episode of Gilmore Girls is on.... But since I posted so many photo's and a picture is worth a thousand words, I really think I've said more than enough....

Leather Jacket: Shop in Florence
Shoes: The Shoe Company
Sunglasses: Kathy Van Zeeland
This picture is from Friday when I was at the conference. Its probably a good thing I have a back log of photos because the weather is just so horrible outside I wouldn't be taking pictures anyways!
I think its quite funny I am wearing matching yellow patent shoes and a purse to go with, but it was not planned. The were just the flats I had taken with me in case I didn't feel like heels. Was I planning this subconciously????
The weather was so nice though on Friday, that between each of the workshops we would go outside and soak up some sun! It was a wonderful change, but now the sun is gone again...

Cajun and I joking around in front of a cop car. The cop is just inside the building behind the glass wondering what we are doing....
Cocktails at Hotel MacDonald. Delicious. Blair treated Cajun and I to birthday cocktails.
Leather Jacket: Store in Florence
Tank: Roberto Cavalli
Mavi Jeans: Katrina's Closet
Booties: Nine West
Pashmina: Street Vendor in Florence
Bracelet: Ten Thousand Villages
Thursday I headed up to Edmonton to attend the Vitalize conference. Its about volunteering and leadership and turned out to be pretty awesome. I learned a lot. Arlene Dickinson from The Dragons Den was the opening keynote speaker along with Lindsay Blackett the Minister of Community and Cultural Spirit.
Cajun and I are on the Student Executive together and attended together a long with our friend Blair who runs the HELP Project that gets the college students involved in volunteering with the community.
Thursday was a hectic and major stress day, these cocktails were amazing and got me back to a happy place!!!

I'm not sure that I've actually ever mentioned how much I love popcorn? Have I? Well I do, as far as I'm concerned its a food group. An important one. This little retro style popcorn maker is what the beau got me for my birthday yesterday. It was all I wanted, and I had requested he not go over the top this year and he actually listened! Well kind of, he did also get me the SATC 2 Lookbook but I think someone (Nash) may of mentioned that to him.
We went to a roller derby with friends and family Saturday night (I'll be posting soon!) and then Sunday went off roading with the local Jeep club. We both took turns driving, unfortunately for the beau I seemed to get the best parts, going up a smaller mountain and then down it over boulders and shale and all kinds of crazy stuff. The below shows a good idea of some of the serious mud we went through, this Jeep is lifted and I at almost 6ft tall seem to sometimes need to stretch to get in, which goes to show how deep some spots were!
Okay, so this is a completely unfashion related post, but it was so much fun and my birthday so I figure I can do whatever I want if its my birthday....

Cardigan: Suzy Shier
Kensie Girl Silk Tank: Gift from Natasha
Chocolate Cotton Satine Capris: Chado
Shoes: The Shoe Company
Necklace & Earrings: Accessorize
The sun was out briefly today, I am now listening to thunder and watching big black clouds move in for the big thunderstorm this evening. When I say now though, I am actually referring to Monday since this is also a scheduled post. I am quite excited to say I will be seeing Natasha again today as she is bringing her hubby back to the airport. No Vyla though, she will be hanging out with her aunt so poor Rusty will not have his buddy to hang out with.
I thought I was going to be working today but I'm not, so I've just finished watching Valentino The Last Emporer. Its quite entertaining. I love the dresses that he makes, they're exquisite! He really seems quite tempermental but I guess thats probably the way it is for lots of big creative types. September Issue is still my favorite, I loved Anna Wintour.
I read an article in Elle Canada the other day of an interview with Jil Sander Creative Director Raf Simons. He's asked about how fashion/street fashion inspires him and he replies that he doesn't take note of that because real fashion is for the elite. What a stupid ponce. Couldn't believe that crap when I read it. That just goes to show how some people can be so ridiculous.

Jacket: Leather Shop in Florence
Earrings: Gift from Natasha
Bracelets: Suzy Shier
I could go on and on about how much I like leather again but I think you got the picture as per my previous post. It is a great jacket though, and super comfortable and super smelly. As in that lovely leather smell.
One thing that is on my mind while looking as these photo's is my serious paleness. I'm pale. I know this. I've always known this. Generally I pull it off quite well, like the Gala pictures in the green knit dress, my paleness was glowing in a healthy beautiful way, almost may I dare say like Anne Hathaway? I love her paleness. Its absolutely beautiful and it just works for her. Sometimes though, I would like a little color. Not a lot, but certainly a little. Like when I hang out with Natasha, she tans so easily and it always looks so good. Shes one of those bronze goddesses, and not just in summer! How does she do it? Just good genes I guess and I'm trying to not hold that against her.... But back to my paleness, I have self tanner on. I'm not even kidding. I've slathered on a couple coats and still the above paleness. It may because I didn't go with the usual brand as people seen to of clued in that its a good one, taken it all and I was stuck with some other stuff that I will now refer to here on out as crap!
I'm unsure how to conclude this blog since I am unsure as to what I want to do, paleness or the search for better self tanner???

Silk Vest: Self made
Knit Top: Joe Fresh
Knit Skinny Pants: Suzy Shier
Shoes: The Shoe Company
Mismatched Earrings: Accessorize
This was a lucky outfit. Now when I say lucky outfit, I mean that it happened completely by chance. I don't typically put a whole lot of thought into any of my outfits but on this day I was wearing a completely different top and ended up getting jam on it. I was quite mad at the time and was wondering what in the world I was going to wear and then somehow came up with this knit top and vest with the scarf combination. So yes, a lucky outfit! It makes me feel like I should be wondering the streets of Paris, perhaps on a pedal bike with a basket in the front.....
I'm away for a couple days later this week to go to a leadership and volunteer conference out of town so I am a couple days behind in outfit posts so I can schedule some ahead of time. Yesterday I wrote that I was trying to be organized and scheduling posts and then I forgot to schedule the post and just posted it! So much for being organized....

Leather Jacket: Florence Leather Shop
Button up shirt: Zara
Skirt: Joe Fresh
Gladiator Sandals: Nine West
This is a scheduled post, I'm predicting things will be a little crazy this week and am planning ahead. Look at me being all organized..... I'm growing up....
This jacket is the prize I've brought back from my trip to Italy. I've been searching for quite some time for a brown leather jacket with interesting details and sleeves long enough. This was not an easy feat, it took a long time but it was meant to be! Because I found this beauty. I love the hardware on the front flap and the quilt stitching on the side front panels. I'll have to make sure to take some close up photo's to show off the details. Did I mention how much I love the smell of leather? I do. Love the smell of leather that is, I mean who doesn't? It just makes me happy. When I first bought these Gladiator sandals I loved sniffing them just for the smell of the leather. Obviously this was all before I was wearing them...... But the beau sure thought I was silly! Its almost as good as the smell of saddle soap and leather. I used to love cleaning and oiling up my saddles, the smells were amazing. I actually keep meaning to get some saddle soap and oil and clean up a saddle of my grandmas I have. I'm wondering if the beau will enjoy me filling the house with that smell?
On a completely different note, tonight the beau made a salad with grilled chicken, grapes, and apples with a yogurt and mayo dressing. He got an iphone last weekend and got the Betty Crocker App and this recipe caught his eye apparently! It was strange. I mean meat and fruit in a salad, have you ever??? I asked him if this was him crying out for an intevention and wanting me to cook more.... He figured Sundays could be the day where he tries "fun new recipes", Sundays will now be referred to as Scary Sundays in my book..... He thought I was kidding....

Green Knit Top: Suzy Shier
Ruffled Vest: H & M Rome
Black Print Skirt: Roberto Cavalli Outlet
Bangles: Ten Thousand Villages
On Natasha: (Again, she is not here so I'm winging it!)
Blouse with Appliqued Detail: No idea but its fabulous
Sandals: Gift from Me!
So we both look fabulous. No modesty here, these outfits are super fun. I was excited to wear this skirt I got at the Roberto Cavalli Outlet after the tour through the factory while visiting Florence. I did not pay a whole lot for this skirt, which is the only reason I got it, that I I love all the prints Roberto Cavalli does, definitely one of my favorites!
My sandals I got a couple years ago and Natasha had always liked them a lot, so when I found the pair she's wearing in the above photo's in Rome, I knew I had to get her a pair (I also got myself a pair in a different color). She loves them and that made me even happier!
Heres Rusty and Vyla hanging out on the lawn together. Vyla seemed to loved Rusty and would keep crawling over and grabbing his paws (Which are bigger than her hands). Rusty would also follow her around while she was crawling and just keep sniffing her while she was on the move. He was probably keeping an eye on her since she kept trying to make a break for his food dish!

This was the night we went out to see SATC 2. We both wanted to wear something pretty since we were going to see such a fabulous movie, but also because we just like any reason to put on pretty outfits, especially together! I also thought is was interesting to see how we have both wore the lace vests, although both of us did it with skirts, maybe next time I'll belt mine and see how that goes.... The beau was laughing at us while taking these pictures for us, but it was quite funny..... Especially with the leg lifting and so on.
Unfortunately we did not have time for cocktails but we ate plenty of popcorn as per our norm, or maybe I should say that I ate plenty of popcorn as I can be a bit of a popcorn hog! Sorry Tash!
I will say that the movie was fantastic and the clothes marvelous as always, well done Patricia Field! Although Natasha and I are still both trying to figure out what the heck they were thinking when they put Charlotte in red spandex leggings and that brown top as its not the most flattering and looks terrible compared with the rest of the ladies dessert outfits! We did find the look book at Chapters yesterday to go with the movie and its quite fabulous. I loved the lookbook that went with the first movie and will definitely have to get the second!
