President Elect

Jacket: Suzy Shier
T-shirt: Bluenotes
Trousers: BCBG
Belt: H & M
Steve Madden Shoes: DSW
Purse: Winners
Glass ring: Gift

It was such a beautiful morning this morning as I was driving. I did see in the forecast that we had a chance of a thunderstorm but it was just too gorgeous out to believe it. Needless to say, these photo's were taken in the afternoon after the sunshine had vanished.... I could even see our amazing Rocky mountains in the distance this morning and was wishing I was headed out there to snowboard. Especially since all the mountains have been getting crazy amounts of snow and it would probably be awesome conditions right now....

I was going for casual chic today as I had lunch with my mentor. It was good, the conversation and the food. I'm sure they will only get better too. The last photo is a fun one I threw into the mix! This is me saying "Stop! No packing and moving far away Nash!"
I mean really....

Hard Edge

I was not feeling very good this morning. Not good at all. So, the clothes needed to be comfortable and  layered with me feeling like I was burning up and the constant fluctuating heat in my classrooms! Plus, I just love these boots and very much wanted to wear them today....
I must say, my legs look freakishly skinny in the last picture. I was feeling a little goofy (and obviously much better than I did this morning), when I remembered some of my friend Natasha's funny photo's she did the other day ( http://required2beinspired.blogspot.com/)
I however, was left to improvise by myself, neither my camera or my tripod were very chatty.....

Spring/Summer Options

(Photo's courtesy of style.com)

I did not get a photo of my outfit today... I'm having some seriously hectic and forgetful days lately....
I did have an interview this morning for a summer job, I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!
So since I didn't post my outfit, I thought I'd post some of my favorites from Nanette Lepore's Spring/Summer collection which I have finally gotten to check out. These clothes have it all, amazing prints, pops of color, feminine pieces, but a couple mannish pieces to mix things up.
Love it!
I would totally love to have each of these pieces in my suitcase for Italy!!!

Board Meeting

Jacket: Suzy Shier
Dress: Zara
Tights: Gift
Necklace: Le Chateau
Shoes: DSW

Today I shadowed the outgoing OCSA President in a board of governors meeting ,which was for the whole day. I got fed 3 awesome meals today so no complaints, but I was sad that I missed all this awesome sunshine. Although I wouldn't of been outside enjoying it anyways because I would of been in the sewing labs! I then went with the board to meet with the town council and do a tour of our new facilities and have dinner and a meeting. It was a lot to take in, but interesting to see all the thought that goes on for absolutely everything at the college.
The funny thing is, in the break between these two events, Jordan took pictures for me and one of the board members walked by and later asked me what I was doing.....

I will be away at "transition" for the next two days at a ranch with my OCSA members doing team building and goal planning so I will not be posting again till Monday most likely.

Bloody cold!

Jacket: Bebe
Sweater: Winners
Knit top: Le Chateau
Dress pants: RW & Co
Shoes: The Shoe Company
Bag: Winners
Necklace: The Bay

It is bloody cold out today! Whoa! I've gotten way to used to the nicer weather we've been having and now I'm suffering! Thankfully, the self timer on my camera co operated today and I did three pictures outside and was done! Yay! This is a rush post tonight, as I'm off to a student awards ceremony where I have to do a toast. Obviously, last weeks terror didn't really come across to people as I'm speaking again.... hmm...
I had to get these shoes fixed a while back, so this was the test run, I love them and was quite excited to wear them today!!!!

Fashion Has No Borders

Saturday was Fashion Has No Borders, a fashion event at the Stampede grounds that promoted fashion for all body types and designers, starting out and established. My college was a sponsor of the event and put on a fashion show with garments from the students. The above are garments of mine modeled in the show, the black and white houndstooth skirt, the black and gold brocade skirt and the green dress. It was a fun little show, and I wish I could of gotten better photo's, but now I know what I'm in for next year!

Victory glow

Sweater: Made by my grandma
Shirt: Smartset
Jeans: Winners
Belt: Gift
Necklace: Gift
Bag: Winners
Booties: Nine West

I'm still just estatic after all my great things from yesterday! Its like a natural high, and long lasting. In fact I'm so happy, I almost forgot to list my shoes! Crazy. I love these jeans, and you can see me laughing a lot in one of the above pictures when Jordan commented that she loved them and said they made my legs look thicker and more buff. "Like I'm a regular on the stair machine..." I'm a real slacker when it comes to the gym.... Jordan's just so funny....
I opened my door this morning to find a skiff of snow covering my car, but as you can see, its just beautiful out this afternoon.
I'm also excited because I am going snow boarding this weekend, and its been so long!
I'm also going to an event at the Stampede grounds this weekend called Fahsion Has No Borders. Jeannie Becker is going to be there a long with some other interesting people. Hopefully I'll get some photo's to post. The college is also having a fashion show at the event, so I have a couple pieces I've made in it. YAY!

Have a great weekend!

Victorious

Jacket: Thrifted
Vest: Vintage
Shirt: Winners
Pants: Hand me downs from my little sister!
Scarf: Ardene
Shoes: Winners
Earrings: F21

I won the student executive election for president! How great is that!?! I'll tell you, its bloody fantastic! I got to school to work on homework at 7:30am this morning, and then class started at 9:00am and I never made it over to the office to check at lunch, then a friend checked and I had won! It was quite nerve racking. What a crazy day, I had three great bits of news and I just am so happy and really feeling like all my hard work is paying off.
I better not get comfortable though, because I still have a ton to do!
I hope everyone had a great day today!

Happy St. Patty's

Jacket: Bebe
Dress: H & M
Boots: Spring
Necklace & Earrings: Gift, handmade by my sister

So happy green day! I think I'm wearing enough green today. Maybe. Definitely one of my favorite printed dresses. Today was also election day for student council, although I'm wondering how many people actually remembered to vote, since they were already planning their festivities for tonight. Hmm.... I did have a lot of people coming up to me and saying that they had voted for me. I guess we'll find out tomorrow. I have to be back at school at the crack of dawn to do homework I didn't get done tonight regardless.....
Pictures were a real adventure today, as I had completely forgotten about them and was on my own when I remembered, so I had fun trying to get things to work with my self timer. I definitely need to consult my manual and figure out a few more things.....

Vote Brianna for President

Jacket: Smart Set
Knit Vest: Reitmans
T-shirt: Gift
Jeans: Free
Bag: ???
Scarf: Ardene
Earrings: Gift from my mom

So I survived my speech today. Barely. My hands were shaking so bad I had to hold onto the podium! Apparently no one but me could tell and my speech was good, or so I'm told.... There was a huge box about 2ft x 2.5ft full of timbits after which was a lifesaver. You can see Jordan and I after we've given our speeches, I look like I've calmed down a bit at this point.... But I was still shaking....
I was sinking in the ground today, and so these outside photo's do not show off these fabulous jeans that I got from my friend Katrina. They apparently don't fit her anymore, even though I'm not sure how thats possible as she's a stick girl, and taller than me and I'm just under 6ft! Anyways, these jeans are awesome, so comfy and fit amazingly!!! A new favorite, so thanks Katrina and no you can't change your mind and have them back...... The grey and seriously muted colors on the rest of my outfit definitely reflect how I felt this morning, thinking about what was ahead.
Tomorrow is election day, so I guess I'll find out Thursday who the victors are.... I really hope I win!!!
Keep your fingers and toes crossed....

Surprisingly Springy

Jacket: Costa Blanca
Shirt: Smart Set
Capris: The Gap
Shoes: Spring
Bracelet: Ten Thousand Villages
Bag: Gift

I hate packing Friday and trying to decide what I will want to wear on Monday. I never decide things like that until I'm actually putting on my outfits. Needless to say when I got dressed in this outfit this morning, I realized I was in a much sunnier mood on Friday, because the weather was not nearly as pleasant as I clearly thought it would be. Luckily, the weather did end up getting quite lovely, surprising really, since usually it probably would of snowed with me wearing such a daring and optimistic outfit!
What I most appreciate about blogging, is it seems to help me take stock of things and help me realize that as bad as my day seemed earlier on, I'm still a very lucky person in many ways. I really did have a dreadful day today, with a scholarship application deadline, getting slaughtered on a small business assignment and so many more things.... But I went and had two sausage butte's for dinner and feel so much better!
I also still have my speech to prepare for the executive candidates forum tomorrow. I really would rather almost fall down the stairs and spend the day in the ER than do public speaking. The beau suggested to picture everyone naked, but for those of you familiar with my favorite British sitcom Coupling, that didn't work out so well for Jeff Murdock. If you haven't seen this show, you just haven't laughed.....

Gala

Dress: Self made
Fishnets: ???
Shoes: Liz Claibourne (Winners)

So here is what I wore to Gala. I love this dress. What a trial it was to make, especially since my sewing machine decided to not want to zig zag stitch and I ended up serging the whole thing together! I made this for a work party of the beau's last year, but I'm glad I've gotten a chance to wear it again and get photo's because I only got one of me sitting down which doesn't do this justice.
I was stoked when these wonderful mounties agreed to this photo for my blog. They looked dashing in uniform, and were exceptionally polite to all the guests and were such good sports about having their photo taken with so many different people during the evening.
The second picture is to show the cool back on this dress. The straps are one piece that make up the high neckline as well. Plus I got to have a photo taken on the red carpet....

Not a casual Friday

Cardigan: Suzy Shier
Top: F21
Capri's Reitmans
Shoes: The Shoe Company
Bag: Gift
Necklaces: Le Chateau

It turned out to be another beautiful day today, and when its Friday, thats always great as far as I'm concerned. Yes, there is snow in the background and I am wearing capri's but it got to about 10 degrees today so all was good.
Tonight  I will be performing greeting duties on the red carpet of Gala, which is a big fundraising event here at the college with alumni and industry connections. Hopefully I'll get pictures in my fabulous green jersey dress I made and plan to wear!
Have a fabulous weekend...

Windy!

Jacket: Reitmans
Shirt: F21
Jeans: Winners
Shoes: Bakers
Necklace: Le Chateau
Earrings: Gift

It got pretty windy this afternoon! I thought the shadows kind of made things interesting today, something different, especially how its getting exactly half my face in the first photo. I was definitely enjoying the sunshine too! I don't particularily love the head shot, but I had to show off how I had wrapped this big chunky necklace to make it like a choker, and of course my fabulous earrings that Natasha got me at Christmas.
