Dress: Zara
Vest: Refind
Brody Jeans: Hand me downs from Katrina
Scarf: Refind
Steve Madden Booties: DSW

I'm entertained by how happy I'm looking in the first couple photos.... Thats sarcasm. It was like midnight or later when I did these. Everyday is blending into the next these days.... Well as of Monday I'm free for 3 weeks! I just have to keep on keepin' on until then, and do as much as I can.

Last night we had our executive Christmas party and did a gift exchange. One of the gifts was a pair of Nerf guns which are, as I type flying around the office. I was just set upon and had the whole thing unloaded on me.... Boys... I'll be getting mine though, don't you worry....

Onto the outfit, Refind has quickly become a favorite haunt of mine, such great finds! Ever since we went to the Hermes boutique and got to speak with a a lady who makes them I've been wanting to incorporate more scarves into my outfits!

I'm going now, the nerf guns are a wee bit distracting....

I'm an Angel, Really...

You can't see the snowflakes Cajun had drawn on her face from this angle, but they were cool!

Good job Cajun on this artistic shot!

Wings & Halo: Borrowed from Cajun
Faux Fur coat: Value Village
Grey Maxi Dress: Value Village

So I got to be in a parade the weekend before last for my college. We (the executive) had discussed about someone being the snow queen, Cajun did a fantastic job. She looks every bit the part, the little girls lined up to have their picture taken with her....
So we had the Snow Queen, the Snow King, and me the Christmas Angel. It ended up being a lot of fun, even though I was surrounded by children, they were for the most part all pleasant and not screaming their heads off. Thank you Santa, they all behaved so well with your presence.

I had a little boy walk up to me and say "Hi Angel..... Gigantic Angel......" He then walked away but returned a short while later and said "Aren't Angels supposed to be all white?"
I wasn't sure how to take any of this but the gigantic angel part was pretty funny.

Snowflake Ball

Dress: Selfmade
Shoes: Aldo
Purse: Winners
Pearl necklace as bracelet: Christmas market booth
Earrings: Gift

So Friday for the Snowflake ball, also known as the big fancy Christmas party that is thrown for the students at our college. Its a lot of fun, people get dressed up, theres great food, pretty decorations and this year Santa even stopped by so students could get their photo taken with him.

Silly me, I didn't take pictures of the food, we had some delicious appetizers before even got to our meal so I didn't even go up for seconds! The meal is great also, because members of the Board of Governors of our school come and volunteer and help serve the food among other things, and really help make this event a success.

I'm glad I got to wear this dress again, it took a fair amount of time to make and I think I've now worn it three times so I think all the hard work has paid off!  Unfortunately I may have to retire this dress as I got a couple snags on it.... I think I have enough pictures wearing it too so thats maybe alright....

Draping Game On

So there was a comment made about what was going on with the dress forms in the back ground of my pictures a few days ago, so here they are. In my advanced pattern drafting class, our final draping assignment we could do whatever we wanted with a few requirements, so the above is what I did. The twill tape on the seam line was used to stabilize the gathers as I worked and reduced how many pins I had to use! I am going through so many pins this year it is unreal!

I'm going to make this dress, I think it would be quite fantastic!

Yesterday I starting draping my leopard print chiffon over my satin for the bodice, its looking stunning. I also handed in my tailored jacket for the third fitting, I may just get it finished in time!
