I made the long drive to my Dad's place to celebrate Guy Fawks last week. A fun filled time of making a Guy, building the bonfire, enjoying the bonfire since it had been raining all day and then turned to snow and then fireworks! This photo doesn't do the fireworks justice, and with the rain and snow I decided to put my camera away before it was soaked. But there were a lot, it was fantastic!

Headpiece: Made by Melissa
My costume and the three fairy costumes made by me
Katrina: Ursula dress made by herself
I can't believe I did it, especially on top of working full time and going to school part time but I did! It was right down to the wire but I do work well under pressure.
A big thank you to these three fairies for making this Halloween so amazing, the parading around the bar was hilarious. In case you wondered, it was the guys idea to dress up as the fairies when I told them I was dressing up as Maleficent.

Top: Better On You
Sandals: Vegas Outlet Mall
Bangles: Dollar store
We have had some amazing weather here for the month of October, in fact I can't remember ever having such a nice October around here. Unfortunately the full time work load and part time classes have prevented me from enjoying the weather as much as I would like. Then add in the four Halloween costumes I've been making and I've got myself a big pile of work.
I can't wait to post photos of Halloween costumes.

Maxi Dress: Selfmade
I've been making the most of the delightful weather we've had around here and wearing dresses as much as possible. It's funny because it's nice enough during the day still to wear dresses but quite a few evenings have cooled off so much I've worn a scarf with a light jacket in the morning. Oh well. I love all the layering of fall fashion so I will be making the most of that!
Too bad I was so lazy I got the beau to take these photos on the iphone instead of my DSLR and this was the result!

I was super inspired by these fun painted bags by Burberry Prorsum and decided to give it a try.
You will need:
A purse of your liking
I thrifted this patent purse and picked up some paint colours to go with this project. I ended up stuffing the purse with magazines to make the side even and easier to paint on.
Start with the stem and leaves to get the proportion you want.
Add your flowers and any extra details and voila!
Don't forget to finish up with a finishing spray to protect your work of art.
I have a lot of other fall fashion ideas to put into action so stay tuned!
