Scarf: Selfmade
Coat: Shienside
Pants: Selfmade

The weather here per usual has been fluctuating like crazy from one day to the next, but spring is here and I can't wait for the warmer sunnier days to come. It also means I need to get to my spring sewing!

Quilting

This quilt and bag were both made by me for a friend going through some not so great things. Another friend quilted the design you can see which I think really brought the whole work together. I lined the bag so that the quilt will slide in and out easily. I have only made a couple quilts and I've generally not enjoyed it but this one went together rather painlessly thank goodness.

Tulle skirt

tulle skirt, metallic yarn, camper shoes

Sweater: Gift
Skirt: Self made
Tights: Winners
Shoes: Camper
Earrings: F21

This tulle and printed skirt was inspired by a similar skirt I saw a while back at Anthropologie, I liked the idea of a print with the tulle over top instead of underneath. I used a wide sparkly elastic for the waistband but I'm still not sold on the stuff for waistbands in general.

This sweater is only to just past my waist and was perfect with this waist high skirt. It was handmade by a volunteer at my work and I treasure it as the pattern is something I don't think I will ever be able to  replicate.

Mitchell's Fabric

lace, chantilly, boucle, sequin fabric

I found these amazing fabrics at a store in Winnipeg back in December when the beau and I were visiting. It is one of the most amazing fabric stores I have ever been to. No joke. The selection and pricing were brilliant, it was a very good thing I set a budget because things could of got out of control in a big way. Sadly I had to put things back but I'll be back!

I have a few things in mind for these fabrics, basic skirts for the three sequin fabrics, blouses for the lace fabrics, and I'm hoping to stretch the boucle fabric to make a skirt and jacket possibly by adding some knit inserts into the designs. Let the sewing begin!

My latest skirt project to be posted soon.

The Whimsical Dress

chiffon, organza, lace skirt, high low skirt

party dress, high low skirt,

Dress: Designed, drafted, and made by me!

I started working on this dress in January for my annual party dress. The lace skirt, underskirt fabric, and the printed skirt fabric were all from my stash and the fabric flowers were made in colours from the skirt out of chiffon and organza.

Please excuse the indoor photos, the temperature has really dropped and there was no way I could stand outside for photos!

The CEO at my work asked me if I had clothes at a boutique in town anywhere, I wish! One day...
